Service Description

This is a pottery taster class (throwing on the wheel) for all LGBTQIA+ people who would like to get their hands on some clay and have a fun evening bonding with others over how difficult throwing on the wheel is. This class will be taught by Rita, a queer, non-binary tattoo artist that has been doing pottery as a hobby for 5 years and has now found new joy in teaching it to others. “I know that in our community it’s sometimes hard to socialise in settings that aren’t around nightlife and drinking and how some of us “wholesome queers” would love to just parallel play while throwing around some jokes, so I thought this class could be a great opportunity for that. I find that pottery can be a really grounding activity and I know that’s also very needed for us.” Join a class, learn a new skill, make some pots and maybe some new friends! Notes: Please note that due to the nature of clay, results may differ from expectation, including but not limited to: - Glaze may vary from examples and are for reference only - Texture created may not shown in the final result - Pots will appear smaller from what you created from class, since clay have a 15% shrinkage - Pots may not be completely cleaned and may have small lumps of clay - Pots may be cracked or exploded We try our best to mitigate this problem but these are inevitable. Unfortunately, the class is non-refundable and we are only able to reimburse you if your work exploded.
